https://www.bestnewzealandpoems.org.nz/past-issues/2017-contents/liz-breslin/

Question 1:
What does the word 'creed' mean? Where else do we see this word being used?
- The definition of creed is 'a system of religious beliefs, a faith'. Its also seen used in video games, music and movies.

Question 2:
Words I don't know?
- Oleocanthal
- Begotten
- Amyloid plaques
- Cruciferous

Oleocanthal is a type of natural phenolic compound.
Begotten is a past tense version of beget, which is 'bring (a child) into exsistence by the process of reproduction'
Amyloid plaques are clumps of beta-amyloids, which destroy connections between nerve cells
Cruciferous vegetables is all that fall under one catergory of vegetables such as bok choy, broccoli, kale and cabbage etc.

Question 3:
Search up Catholic Nicene Creed and analyse and compare?
- This is a poem/prayer. It includes words such as begotten, Almighty, salvation, cruciferous, worship, glorify, prophets, resurrection, amen. When looking closely, I notice that the lifestyle creed is exactly the same as the Catholic Nicene Creed, just with replaced words such as 'to judge the living and the dead' with 'in caffeine boosts'.

Questions 4 and 5:
Why does the author cut up bits of text, what effect does it have? Why does the author use two different font styles? What does it represent and what was the authors purpose?
- She uses bold in her new words, it shows that is she is pasting it together, for a more effective look, to separate the two and highlight differences whilst bringing it together.

Question 6:

Why do you think the author has juxtaposed the Nicene Creed with words such as “brain boosters”, “antioxidants”, and “good cholesterol”? What meaning is she trying to convey? Is this effective? What is the effect on the reader?
- I think that this technique she used, is because she is trying to say that a healthy lifestyle and these words are important and should be lived by, similar to the original Creed, I believe she is trying to provide nutritional advice and help for healthy living
Questions 7:
What is the purpose of this poem?
- I think her purpose is to display the nutrition and health advice in a different light, and comparing and saying how the advice is something to carry and live by like the prayer. Its suggesting it to be a religion.

Questions 8:
What is the overall tone of the poem?
- Because the poem consists of two such different texts and elements, it gives off a weird unmixed sort of vibe. It's weird and almost uncomfortable, like doesn't sit right together. It almost gives off a sarcastic or mocking tone.

Question 9:
What does the last two lines of the poem suggest?
- Its a bit confusing, but maybe talking about improvement in health and better cholesterol in the world, and is like mocking almost, like a joke.

Question 10:
Do you like this poem, why, why not?
- Its an interesting weird poem. It doesn't really engage or work well, I feel like its not smooth, doesn't flow or encapture the reader, or have harmony to it.
