Fishermen should pay for every fish they catch

I don’t know if fisherman should pay for every fish they catch.

I think that they possibly could pay a small fee to fish. You have to pay for plants and fruit and vegetables and meat so why shouldn’t you have to pay for fish? Fishing should be open to everyone for a small cost to fish, but only if they actually catch something. The fee paid could go towards looking after fish or the ocean. Like we can use the money to make sure the ocean water stays clean for them and so that they can breed freely. This will ensure that there will always be a stable amount of fish so that we can stick to using our natural resources and won’t run out.

But then on the other side, if they had to pay a specific amount for each fish it wouldn’t be fair, because fish are different sizes. Some people are poor and they fish because it's a free way to get food and they need it so paying for each one is unfair for them, it helps them. So in some ways, they should pay but otherwise, I think it actually just depends on the situation and person fishing. In some ways fishing should stay a hobby and for those who just genuinely love it and eat the fish happily. So, I don’t know.
